Welcome to Pleasant Hills...
Welcome to Pleasant Hills...
It also has a Hellmouth.
(Somehow they missed that on the brochure)
A young rebellious Slayer has been sent here as her last chance to prove herself to the Watcher's Council. In the darker side of Pleasant Hills, she will be forced to confront a vampire cult, an alien menace, an ancient prophecy and a worldwide weapons-technology corporation that has long ago expanded its market into the supernatural. This small idyllic town has already claimed the lives of two Slayers.
Will she be next?
Okay....Now that the AAA Travel Guide portion of our tour has ended, I'll get to the real deal. This town has problems. I mean...I've heard stories about how Sunnydale was, with all the deaths and nobody thinking twice about them, but this is pure insanity! The vamp population is way out of control. They breed without even thinking about food supply. And there are plenty of other things here too. They're attracted by the Hellmouth. Town's safe enough during the day, but you take your life in your own hands if you go out after sunset. Oh, and a piece of advice? Don't go out into the woods alone.
At any time of day.
My Watcher tries to put a positive spin on it, but he knows I'm only here because they had nowhere else to stick me but here or in the ground. But boy did they mess up.... This town isn't just a Hellmouth with some high school on top of it. The Hellmouth is here because of something else.
I don't look good in tights and my secret identity sucks, but I'm not sure what else to do. It's not like you can just quit being a Slayer. The Watchers get all twitchy when you even mention it. Besides, I get to help people out. The rescuing part is cool. I get to ride in on my white horse and save people from becoming vampire-chow. Plus I get to hit things really hard with a big-ass axe and call it an extra-curricular activity. Okay that part is pretty fun too.... Go with your talents, right?
But pay attention. It gets more dangerous every night here in good ol' Pleasant Hills. Things are building towards something bad. Wish I had any inkling of what and when. Might help me decide whether to study for mid-terms or not....
